Comet 4 Galley Textures

Galley Textures

This week, I coloured-in the galley. I’m not good at making plain surfaces look convincingly metallic, but I’m much happier on detail like the control panels, gauges on the G.E.C. oven, and the roller-shutter cupboards.

In the first picture (above), the upper panel, next to the roller shutters, cupboards, has switches for lighting throughout the passenger compartment, and lamps that light when a passenger presses the “steward” button. The smaller panel below it has power switches for the heated food containers.

If I struggle with metal textures, cloth is even worse! Making the crew seat look convincingly cushy, or the quilted insulation on the back of the door look well-stuffed, is beyond me at the moment. I’ll have to come back to this area when my skills have improved ...

The last picture shows the heated beverage containers, with new corrugated surfaces, a sight glass showing the level in the G.E.C. water heater, and a power distribution panel for all those and the fridge, below. The L.E.C. fridge now has a thermometer.

Next: the passenger compartment ....
